Britney Spears is doing her part to try and help those affected by the tragic events in Japan. The Femme Fatale singer donated two tickets to her "Good Morning America" taping this Sunday in San Francisco to a local area radio station who then decided to use them for some good.
Bay Area radio station Wild 94.9 got their hands on two VIP passes to the show, which they in turn put up for auction, with proceeds going to the Salvation Army. By the time the auction closed on Wednesday night, the winner had bought their spot for $1,136.
Spears will be in in San Francisco this Sunday to pre-tape her "GMA" appearance, which will air on Tuesday — the day that her Femme Fatale album drops. Spears was originally slated to perform in the Castro district at midday, but due to potentially wet weather conditions, the show has been moved to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. 'GMA' host Robin Roberts, who interviewed Chris Brown earlier this week, will be on hand to chat with Britney for the segment.
"Good morning, America," Spears said, her voice sounding a bit low and hoarse, in a promo for her 'GMA' gig that aired late last month. "I'm excited to tell you on Tuesday morning, March 29, I'll be performing for the first time ever in a special concert in San Francisco ... on 'Good Morning America.' And I promise you it'll be a morning to remember. See you soon!"
Spears also appeared in a second clip promoting the performance, in which she told fans, "Wake up with me. This is going to be so good."
Spears' 'GMA' visit kicks off promo for Femme Fatale, which will include several appearances on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" the week that the album drops. MTV will dedicate this Tuesday to the femme fatale herself for what is being dubbed a "Britney take-over" day on the network. Additionally, Spears will make an appearance on the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on April 2, though there is no word on whether she'll be performing, presenting or just getting slimed.
