Robert Plant And Alison Krauss Win Grammy Album Of The Year

Raising Sand, from Led Zeppelin vet and bluegrass superstar, wins five Grammys on Sunday night.

"I'm bewildered," Robert Plant said onstage as he accepted the Grammy Album of the Year award with Alison Krauss on Sunday night. "In the old days we would have called this selling out, but it's a good way to spend a Sunday."

He was probably one of the few who were surprised, because Raising Sand, which won five trophies at Sunday night's show, is in many ways the perfect Grammy album. It features two respected veterans, a critically lauded producer, some sandpaper-and-velvet vocals and a baker's dozen of time-tested standards.

You're probably familiar with Robert Plant from his Led Zeppelin days, and you might be aware of producer T-Bone Burnett's work on the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack (it won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2002). And if you don't know who Alison Krauss is, she possesses a haunting set of pipes and is one of the meanest fiddle players in the world. Oh, and she's won 21 Grammys, more than any other female artist and the seventh-most in history.

Really, she's the key to Sand's success, and not just because of her voice (or her fiddle playing). She and Plant first met in 2004, at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tribute to legendary bluesman Leadbelly, and the former Zeppelin man was amazed by her knowledge of American Roots music — so much so that they began kicking around the idea of recording an album together. Three years later, Sand was released.

And while Plant possesses the more famous voice, the album's finest moments radiate from Krauss. Whether she's getting bluesy on Little Milton's "Let Your Loss Be Your Lesson" or entwining with Plant's husky voice on songs like "Please Read the Letter" and Roly Salley's winsome "Killing the Blues," she more than carries her end of the bargain.

And perhaps that's also due to producer Burnett, who handpicked the 13 songs the duo cover on Sand. His arrangements are sparse — giving the two voices ample room to breathe — yet dense, warm and crackling at the same time. It's a testament to his work that he's often given just as much billing as Plant and Krauss on the project ... and it's certainly justified.

To date, Sand has sold more than 1 million copies, heaped tons of acclaim and actually earned a Grammy last year — "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)" took home the award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.

One expert was surprised not by the album's success, but by the fact that it's actually quite a good album.

"At first, the album seemed like a vanity project. ... Two names, clearly a one-off record, didn't have to be any good, you know?" New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica said. "Led Zeppelin fans would buy it because of Robert Plant, Alison Krauss would get a check. But it actually turned out to be a really thoughtful, really good record. So when you combine all that with the fact that the Grammys love to lionize one of their own, I could really see it taking home some awards."

Jonah Hill 'Not Mad' At 'Lion King' Triumph Over 'Moneyball'

'If everyone goes to see a movie that's 20 years old ... they're just going to re-release 20-year-old movies,' Hill jokes about his box-office competition.
By Kara Warner, with reporting by Vanessa WhiteWolf

Even though Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill's well-received "Moneyball" wasn't able to conquer Disney's re-release of "The Lion King" at the box office over its opening weekend, Hill isn't worried about the potential for continued success of the underdog- and baseball-themed flick. He's worried about what message that might send to studio executives.

"I'm not mad at 'The Lion King,' " Hill said with sincerity and a smile. "I just think if everyone goes to see a movie that's 20 years old getting re-released, they're just going to re-release 20-year-old movies instead of making new original movies, and that would be a shame."

But even more newsworthy than the film's box-office haul is all the early awards buzz it is getting, specifically the positive attention Hill's performance has received. When we asked the 27-year-old what it might mean to be recognized for his work with an Oscar or Golden Globe nomination, he wasn't sure how to react just yet.

"I don't know, I don't know. I'm just really proud of the movie. Stuff like that is crazy when you hear someone ask you that question legitimately," he said. "It's really flattering and cool, but for me the whole experience has been wonderful and I'm already as proud as I would be would I get to be up for an award. I've never been up for any award in my life ... actually an MTV award [Best Comedic Performance and Best Newcomer noms for "Superbad"], so that was already exciting enough for me.

"I don't know," he continued. "Basically it's just a crazy, insane question to be asked and you don't really know what to say when someone asks you that kind of question."

No matter what happens over the course of the next few months, Hill is proud of his performance and excited that "Moneyball" is exposing him to new audiences outside of those who know him from his work in comedies.

"What's interesting to me is that it's been completely different audiences [going to see "Moneyball"]. The audiences who would see "Superbad" or "Get Him to the Greek" or "The Sitter" hasn't been the audience that's seen "Moneyball" so far. The fortunate thing for me is that I'm getting a much older audience to understand me as an actor."

Check out everything we've got on "Moneyball."

'Breaking Dawn' Single Drops: Bruno Mars' 'It Will Rain'

'Twilight' soundtrack, due November 8, also will feature Christina Perri and Theophilus London.

The indie angst of past "Twilight" scores has given way to doo-wop sadness on "It Will Rain," the lead single Bruno Mars dropped Tuesday (September 27). The full "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" soundtrack will hit the streets November 8.

In a previous interview, Mars promised "It Will Rain" would be "dark," and he didn't lie. The track — co-written and co-produced by Mars' team, the Smeezingtons — is signature Mars: Sweeping and romantic, it focuses on the power of true love and the emotional pain of heartbreak. The pain of the track is reminiscent of his smash "Grenade."

" 'Cause there'll be no more sunlight, if I lose you, baby," he sings on the emotional chorus. "There'll be no clear skies, if I lose you, baby/ Just let the clouds, my eyes will do the same if you walk away/ Every day, it will rain."

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" opens in theaters November 18. "After seeing the movie, I thought that it would be a perfect fit," Mars said of the song. "The 'Twilight' movies for me [are] a love story. But it's a dark love story," he added. "And I think the best way to describe the song is: It's the darker side of love. I think that pretty much sums it up."

On Monday, a full track list dropped, revealing which other artists made the final cut for the November release. Christina Perri, Theophilus London and Aqualung & Lucy Schwartz are a few of the artists who will be featured. The track list also reveals that Iron & Wine's song "Flightless Bird, American Mouth (Wedding Version)" will be played during the long-awaited wedding.

The full track list for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" soundtrack:

» The Joy Formidable, "Endtapes"
» Angus & Julia Stone, "Love Will Take You"
» Bruno Mars, "It Will Rain"
» Sleeping at Last, "Turning Page"
» The Features, "From Now On"
» Christina Perri, "A Thousand Years"
» Theophilus London, "Neighbors"
» The Belle Brigade, "I Didn't Mean It"
» Noisettes, "Sister Rosetta (2011 Version)"
» Cider Sky, "Northern Lights"
» Iron & Wine, "Flightless Bird, American Mouth (Wedding Version)"
» Imperial Mammoth, "Requiem on Water"
» Aqualung & Lucy Schwartz, "Cold"
» Mia Maestro, "Llovera"
» Carter Burwell, "Love Death Rebirth"

Britney Spears To Shoot 'Criminal' Video In England

Singer also graces the cover of U.K. Glamour before European leg of Femme Fatale Tour kicks off.

Before Britney Spears kicks off the European leg of her Femme Fatale Tour later this month, she is taking care of a little business in England. Spears took to Twitter to reveal that the country would serve as the locale for her "Criminal" video.

"So excited to stop over in the UK before I start my European tour in a few weeks," she tweeted. "Can't wait! I LOVE London, it's like my second home. Decided to shoot the 'Criminal' video in the streets of merry old England when I get there..."

The news of the video shoot comes a week or so after the singer revealed to MTV News that her next single would be the Femme Fatale slow jam. She also teased that she had some interesting ideas for the video.

"The song, when I first heard it, it's really different and it's not anything I've heard like this before," she told us backstage at the VMAs. "So I really wanted to deliver this song. I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting. You'll have to see."

Just in time for her Euro trip, Spears also graces the cover of Glamour's U.K. edition. In the magazine, the singer opens up about her next personal milestone: turning the big 3-0.

"I think the older you get, the wiser you get," she said. "I can't wait. I'm really excited and definitely gonna celebrate and do something spectacular. I'm gonna be in South America so I'll have to do something pretty fun. A carnival of Britney?"

Spears wears a dress with sequins and feathers on the cover, and in the article, she says she'd love to have William and Kate stop by one of her shows in London. "That would be amazing. That would be really crazy and cool. I think they're a beautiful couple," she said. "Unfortunately I didn't get to watch the [royal] wedding, but I heard it was beautiful."

Does Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go" have the people's support as Song of the Summer? Check out the video below to find out!

Michael Jackson 'Wasn't Right,' Choreographer Testifies

Kenny Ortega takes stand in doctor Conrad Murray's manslaughter trial.
By Gil Kaufman

Photo: Pool/Getty Images

After dramatic opening statements from prosecutors and the defense, the manslaughter trial of former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray began Tuesday with gripping testimony from Jackson's friend and former choreographer, "This is It" documentary director Kenny Ortega.

"My friend wasn't right. ... There was something going on that was deeply troubling me," Ortega said of Jackson's demeanor on June 19, a week before the singer's death. Ortega testified that although Jackson was "very excited" about his upcoming 50-date "This is It" series of comeback shows at London's O2 Arena, the pop icon seemed ill in the days before his passing, missing numerous rehearsals from mid- to late June 2009.

According to TMZ, Ortega said Jackson left rehearsals early on the 19th, after seemingly not eating anything all day, which prompted the director to send an email to Randy Phillips, the CEO of AEG Live, the show's promoter. "There is no one taking responsibility, caring for him on a daily basis," Ortega wrote. "I was feeding him, wrapping him in blankets ... and calling his doctor."

Ortega described Jackson as "incoherent" and said he confronted Murray during an emergency meeting at the singer's home June 20, during which the doctor became upset that the choreographer would not let Jackson rehearse and accused him of trying to act like a doctor. Ortega also said he thought Jackson was abusing drugs and that just four days after appearing so sick, the "Thriller" singer was back at rehearsals June 23 full of energy and ready to work.

AEG co-CEO Paul Gongaware later testified that it was Jackson's idea to extend his string of 10 sold-out shows with an additional 21 gigs to bring the total to 31 in order to beat longtime rival Prince's record of 21 sold-out gigs at the O2. He also said that even after selling out all 50 shows, there was a list of 250,000 people waiting for tickets.

And while Gongaware described Jackson as seeming a little "off" and speaking in slurred speech when he first met him in the early stages of rehearsal, longtime friend and fitness trainer Lou Ferrigno said he saw no signs of physical distress during workouts a couple weeks before the singer died.

The former "Hulk" star said that two weeks before Jackson's passing, he watched as the pop icon trained for an hour at his rented Beverly Hills mansion, doing cardio on a treadmill, working with light weights and doing core exercises. Ferrigno described Jackson's energy level as very good, but did note that his friend complained of having trouble sleeping.

Earlier in the day, prosecutors showed a previously unseen, graphic image of the 50-year-old Jackson's body on a hospital gurney and claimed in opening statements that they planned to show that Murray repeatedly acted with gross negligence and incompetence in administering a drug cocktail to Jackson.

Murray, who was working on a $150,000-a-month retainer, faces four years in prison and the loss of his medical license if found guilty.

Defense attorney Ed Chernoff countered by telling the jury that Jackson caused his own death by swallowing eight 2-milligram pills of the anti-anxiety drug Lorazepam, as well as injecting himself with a dose of the surgical anesthetic propofol that instantly killed him. Testimony in the trial continues Wednesday (September 28).

Julianne Hough Is Our New Class' 'Triple Threat'

'Footloose' actress tells MTV News she emulates Reese Witherspoon.
By Kara Warner

Julianne Hough
Photo: Denise Truscello/ WireImage

Julianne Hough's résumé is so chock-full of accomplishments, it doesn't seem possible that one person could pack so much into 23 short years on the planet. In other words, unless you've been living under a rock, you've seen or heard the petite, talented entertainment dynamo on TV, the big screen or radio.

If you're a "Dancing With the Stars" fan, you know Hough from the fancy footwork she demonstrated as a professional dancer for four seasons, two of which she won with partners Helio Castroneves (in season four) and Apolo Ohno (in season five). If you're a country music fan, you might have noticed the Utah native being named the Top New Female Vocalist and Top New Artist at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2009.

Most recently, Hough has been dipping her toes into the world of movie acting. Her first big role was in 2010's "Burlesque" alongside Cher and Christina Aguilera, followed by a starring role in this fall's highly anticipated reboot of "Footloose."

Perhaps it's now easy to see why Hough has been named "Most Likely to be a Triple Threat" in MTV Movies' New Class. She can do it all, and by the look and sound of it, she's just getting started with an eventful career.

MTV News recently caught up with the superstar-in-the-making to see how she's juggling all her different career paths and what it means to be named to our New Class.

"Obviously, it never gets old. Every day, I am shocked and surprised and so excited that anybody would want to put me in any kind of list or category as up-and-comers," she admitted. "That's the dream. I've always wanted to do this and to be recognized for something that you always want, but it's so hard to even think you can achieve. It's pretty crazy; it's surreal. Thank you!"

With regard to whether she prefers being categorized as a dancer, actress or singer, Hough said she just wants to entertain, and is taking her cue from the multitalented stars of Hollywood's Golden Age.

"The actors and entertainers from early on — the '20s and '30s and '40s — they did everything: They were singers, they were actors, they were just entertainers. And people ask me, ... 'What do you like more, if you had to choose?' And I'm like, 'I don't want to choose!' I love all of them, and each fulfills something different inside of me."

When pressed to pick an actress' career she hopes to emulate, Hough revealed she has her eyes on another recognizable blonde's ambitions.

"Reese Witherspoon: As a young actress, she was so dramatic and did these really great roles, and then definitely moved up to be America's sweetheart, so I definitely watch her career and try to make some decisions like she has."

Look out for Hough as sassy free spirit Ariel Moore in "Footloose" and in the star-studded "Rock of Ages" next summer. The triple threat said her sophomore album will be out in the near future or "when it's really ready."

Britney Spears Hosts As Ke$ha, Jennifer Lopez, More Bring Wango Tango To L.A.

Pitbull, Matthew Morrison, Selena Gomez, Far East Movement and others filled the Staples Center on Saturday night.

LOS ANGELESBritney Spears makes headlines at concerts, even when she's not performing. That's probably why Los Angeles radio station KIIS FM tapped the pop princess to guest-host their annual Wango Tango music festival along with Ryan Seacrest on Saturday night at the Staples Center.

The bill was a balance of pop and hip-hop, with acts like Ke$ha, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Selena Gomez, "Glee" 's Matthew Morrison, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, Jason Derülo, Far East Movement, New Boyz, Cobra Starship and newcomer Cody Simpson.

Backstage, the media room went into a frenzy when Spears arrived in a red, geometric-print dress and a beaming smile. Owning her "femme fatale" moniker, Spears worked the carpet for a few moments while all of the cameras in the room were pointing at her. It was the second red carpet appearance by Brit this week, after her Beverly Hills benefit on Wednesday night for the St. Bernard Project.

Check out photos from Wango Tango 2011.

Spears' Femme Fatale collaborator Ke$ha, who was returning to the festival for the second time, said that an onstage collab between to the two would have to require one thing.

"That would have to include me finding her and attacking her," Ke$ha told MTV News, with the best intentions. "I'm planning on pouncing her."

While that never happened, at least not onstage, Ke$ha delivered on her promise of a set heavy on her glitter gun. And she assured us she knew the dos and don'ts of handling that kind of firepower.

"Do not spray yourself in the face with it," she said. "Do spray everybody else with it. That's pretty much it."

While Joe Jonas wasn't performing at the show, he took a break from recording his solo debut to catch up with almost everyone backstage.

"I didn't see Britney backstage, just said 'hello' to a couple of my friends," Jonas said. "Backstage is always [full of] people, especially having it at the Staples Center this time, I think compared to all the way out in the desert, it changes everything."

Also happy to have Wango Tango in Los Angeles were locals Far East Movement.

"Man, we grew up literally a few blocks away from here, and you can only imagine basketball games being played here," Kev Nish said. "So to come in here as performers, to be able to do our songs in this arena is a little crazy. We used to pass out CDs a few blocks [away], so we're very thankful. And the lineup is nuts, so we're extremely excited to be a part of this lineup."

Beyonce Says Shopping For Maternity Clothes 'So Much Fun'

B dishes on dressing for her expanding baby bump after unveiling latest House of Deréon line.
By Jocelyn Vena

Beyoncé

Beyoncé hit up London Fashion Week this past weekend to launch the latest House of Deréon line. The line was described as "global nomad," and according to B, anyone — even pregnant ladies like herself — can wear the clothes.

"What I'm wearing today is part of the collection and it's not supposed to be, but it actually is really good for ... maternity," the singer, dressed in a sparkly black pantsuit, told CNN.

B explained that she and her mom, Tina Knowles, started working on the line at least six months before her pregnancy, so they hadn't planned maternity clothes specifically. "But we do have some things that I am still trying to rock," she admitted.

"Actually, I am having so much fun, it has been the most fun time now that [my pregnancy] has been announced and I don't have to, you know, it was really difficult to conceal," she continued. "But now that I can be proud and excited about it, I'm having so much fun shopping. It's great."

Beyoncé has always been a trendsetter in the world of fashion, and that isn't going to change just because she's going to be a mom. "I just feel like it is often within," she said. "My mother has always told me that beauty comes from within and what's exciting about being a woman is you can say, 'Today ... I feel really conservative, today I'm feeling classy. Today, I am going on a date and I want to just be a showstopper.' And you know there is this variety of beautiful clothes that can bring out whatever you feel inside," she added. "But it comes from here and you should wear your clothes, they shouldn't wear you."

The singer also shared that she isn't sure whether to buy pink or blue clothes as she doesn't know the baby's gender yet. Her mom, however, is just happy about the news. "I am so delighted. I'm over the moon," she gushed.

¿Y a ti? ¿Qué te parece todo esto?

Lady Gaga 'Already Working' On Born This Way Follow-Up

Singer's manager hopes Gaga will release next LP for free.
By James Montgomery

Lady Gaga
Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage

This may not come as a shock to anyone who's marveled at her multitasking ways, but just four months after the release of her Born This Way album, says she's already working on the follow-up, which she says will be released "sooner rather than later."

That's what she told Ryan Seacrest just before the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas, adding that the new disc is just one of many projects she's juggling at the moment.

"I'm actually already working on my next album," she said. "So I've been working on that. I've been planning the next tour, which keeps me very excited and busy because I have lots of new ideas, and I know exactly how I want it to look. I'm also planning my next music video. I have lots of things to do, but in truth, I feel like I'm the most alive when I'm onstage."

And while there's still no release date (or any concrete information) on Gaga's next album, her manager, Troy Carter, recently suggested that, if he has his way, Gaga might give the record away for free.

Check out photos of Lady Gaga and others at the iHeartRadio festival.

"If it was up to me, I'd give away the next album and put it on every handset that I can put it on," Carter said last week at the f8 conference in San Francisco. "You can't be scared to fail. Sometimes we're going to get big results, and sometimes you learn a lesson, make an adjustment and move on."

Gaga made waves back in May with the multitude of methods she promoted Born This Way, including a much-discussed 99-cent pricing scheme with Amazon.com, which temporarily crashed the site.

A spokesperson for Gaga's label could not be reached for comment by MTV News about the new album.

Need more Britney Spears amped-up club tracks in your life? Well, the Femme Fatale singer has your back. Britney tweeted her plan to release a remix album next month.

B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2 will drop on October 11, and the singer had this to say about the release: "Exciting news people ... new remix album is coming out on 10/11! Pumped for you to hear these tracks - I love them."

The album will feature reworked versions of 10 of her songs, both from Femme Fatale and her previous work. The songs are: "Gimme More" (Kaskade Club Mix), "Piece of Me" (Tiësto Club Mix), "Radar" (Tonal Club Remix), "Womanizer" (Benny Benassi Extended), "Circus" (Linus Loves Remix), "If U Seek Amy" (U-Tern Remix), "3" (Manhattan Clique Club Remix), "Till the World Ends" (Alex Suarez Club Remix), "I Wanna Go" (Gareth Emery Remix) and "Criminal" (Varsity Team Remix).

Spears dropped the first part of the B in the Mix series back in November 2005. On that record, folks like Justice, Bill Hamel, Junkie XL and Jason Nevins, to name a few, put their spin on major releases and under-the-radar tracks including "Me Against the Music," "Touch of My Hand," "And Then We Kiss" and "Early Mornin'."

The news comes as Britney preps the release of her next single, the Femme Fatale slow jam "Criminal," which made the track listing for B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2. Spears also recently tweeted that she's shooting the video for "Criminal" in England.

Britney Spears And Jo Calderone: A VMA Romance?

Lady Gaga's male alter ego even got fresh with Brit after her VMA tribute.

On Sunday night at the 2011 Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga's alter ego Jo Calderone met the princess of pop herself, Britney Spears. Gaga, in full drag as Calderone, and Spears had a bit of a VMA romance, sharing kind words -- and even swapping spit.

"It was interesting, her character," Spears later told MTV News about the encounter, even dishing how the kiss between the two took place. "We got onstage and we felt it out."

Spears, of course, has already kissed a famous pop star on the VMA stage, when she and Madonna locked lips back in 2003. And it's that kind of free spirit that Calderone noted in his speech about the singer. "She taught us all how to be fearless, and the industry wouldn't be the same without her," Calderone said when he not only kicked off the tribute to the star, but also later presented her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

After a troupe of dancers, who performed dance routines to everything from " ... Baby One More Time" and "Crazy" to "Toxic" and "Do Somethin'," left the stage, Calderone and Spears came face to face, and lips to lips. Although Spears seemed fine with the initial kiss, when he tried to make a few more advances, Spears rebuffed him with a big smile on her face.

He took it like a gentleman, adding, "I don't want Gaga to get pissed."

So was Gaga completely Calderone the whole time? "She's in full character," Spears later added. "Yes, definitely."

Robert Pattinson Is In 'Every Second' Of 'Cosmopolis'

'It's a very, very tricky part, and he was really at home with it,' co-star Paul Giamatti tells MTV News.

We've got a load of questions about Robert Pattinson's "Cosmopolis," chief among them how director David Cronenberg intends to adapt a novel, penned by postmodern wizard Don DeLillo, which takes place in one day, largely within one traffic-stalled limousine.

It all makes sense on the page, with so much of the action in this novel of ideas taking place in the head of Eric Packer, a young and rich asset manager who every so often hops out of his ride to sleep with women and get into violent confrontations with menacing strangers. But how all this plays out — and how strictly Cronenberg, who also penned the script, sticks to the source material — remains to be seen.

If we can read into co-star Paul Giamatti's recent comments to MTV News, it seems the film and book will retain one key similarity: It's all about Packer.

"He's in every second of this movie," Giamatti said of Pattinson while promoting "The Ides of March" at the Toronto International Film Festival. "The whole thing is him."

That's a lot of pressure for a young actor who has shined in the "Twilight" films and taken on romantic dramas like "Remember Me" and "Water for Elephants," yet has never worked with such dark, cerebral material — and a director so comfortable with such things. Nonetheless, Giamatti says Pattinson nailed the role.

"He seemed absolutely great. It's a very, very tricky part, and he was really at home with it," he told us. "I was really impressed."

The novel intercuts, every so often, the psychotic musings of Benno Levin, the character played by Giamatti. "I get to stalk him," the actor told us at Sundance back in January.

That's not all he does. We'll leave it at that, lest we dive into spoiler territory. But the story gets dark. Really dark. And that's right up Cronenberg's alley, a director who made his name in the horror genre and has lately taken on brashly violent material like "Eastern Promises." Cronenberg the man, however, is very different than Cronenberg the filmmaker, Giamatti assured us.

"[He's an] incredibly sane man, when you think about the movies he makes," he said. "He's an incredibly grounded and sweet, sane guy. It was pure pleasure. I had a great time doing it. I'm a big fan of his, so that was a very exciting thing."

Check out everything we've got on "Cosmopolis."

Ke$ha Is Channeling 'Sexiness' Of '70s Rock For New Album

Glitter-heavy pop star tells MTV News she's going for 'balls-out, irreverent rock and roll.'
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matt Elias

Ke$ha's already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she's even taken to guzzling blood out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most theatrical era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s.

Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KIIS FM's annual Wango Tango concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout Animal album (and, we suppose, Cannibal too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much everything else.

"The next album ... I've been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll," she said. "I've been pretty much in this '70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that's just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f---, so we'll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it."

So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc.

"I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. "I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that's my dream. I'm working on it."

What do you think of Ke$ha going rock for her next album? Tell us in the comments!

Kate Hudson Flashes Her Panties!

Well Kate Middleton definitely had to learn how to keep her legs shut when exiting cars, and it looks like Kate Hudson could use a lesson or two herself!
The Muse mommy had just left a London dinner with Matt Bellamy when she flashed us those white knickers.
It could have been worse, though. At least [...]
